Tonight I am continuing my top ten most influential albums list. Tonight\'s album comes from the early 1990\'s and turned me on to the grunge genre. Believe it or not, it was not Nirvana\'s Nevermind.

Pearl Jam--Ten
I first heard \"Alive\" on WENZ-FM \"The End\" radio and I found a new genre of music to investigate. This was the first grunge album I bought. It opened the door to Alice in Chains and Nirvana, but not Soundgarden (another \"blame my brother\" band for the early stuff). Ten is a heavy album with dark subject matter, but it\'s a great album (my opinion). Have a good evening.

Trivial Tuesday

First, I have created a new comic, my first in about a year and a half. It was inspired by actual events in my house today. Now, on to trivia:

Only two countries in the world allow prescription drug advertisements on TV. Name them.

That might keep you busy for a bit. Have a good evening.

Gardening with AlienCG

It has rained just about everyday since last Monday including today. The garden is growing nicely as well as all the weeds. I am now going to wait until I get a drier day and post pictures of everything when I can clean it up. For now, the here\'s a shot of the cucumbers which are coming up quickly.

I cannot wait for my first cucumbers to come in. They seem a lot bigger than this time last year. Stay tuned, more photos may be coming this week.

Making a Clean Getaway

This week\'s Saturday Scavenger Shots is brought to us by Babybull. This week\'s word is CLEAN. I already used up my photos that demonstrate cleanliness and it was a bit difficult getting a picture of me making a clean getaway from work. So, here\'s a picture of my nice, clean bed (I just changed my sheets).

That\'s where I sleep when I\'m in town and wish I were sleeping when I\'m out of town. I will be sleeping here all week since I am on vacation. Have a good weekend.

Blame my Brother for #9

This week\'s album can be blamed on Evil-E. This was my first foray into a newer underground punk scene.

NOFX--White Trash, Two Heebs and a Bean
I was introduced to this album back in 1993 (or 1994) and it turned me onto the punk scene of that time. It was pretty infectious and it still is even now. \"Soul Doubt,\" \"Bob,\" \"Please Play this Song on the Radio,\" and plenty of other tunes make this album a perfect starter into the mid-90\'s west coast punk scene. Thanks a lot, Evil-E, and you will blamed a couple more times.

Trivial Tuesday

I asked a question on Sunday and I think I should give the trick answer. Where in the nursery rhyme does it mention that Humpty Dumpty is an egg? Actually, the rhyme was written as a riddle back in the 1800\'s and the answer stated that he was an egg. Humpty Dumpty was a term used to describe a short, clumsy person back in the 19th century. Now, on to this week\'s trivia.

Many urban legends state that duct tape has been used to solve problems on NASA missions. Legend also states that duct tape is included in the supplies for every NASA mission. The question is, simply, is any of this true? Does NASA subscribe to the usefulness of duct tape?

Who Thinks of This Stuff?

I saw something today that really made me think. While driving to work this morning, I saw a guy driving and, at the same time, shaving with a cordless electric shaver. I\'m pretty sure that the inventor of the cordless electric shaver was not thinking of this as a possible use and I don\'t really know why we need such an invention. I will admit that I do own one of these devices. I got it as a Christmas gift one year and I do like it, but I do use it while plugged in.

1. Well, I have to travel overseas and I don\'t have a 220AC to 110AC adapter. Nope. If you travel overseas you will either have a few days to prepare and be able to get an adapter or you will already have one.

2. I travel for a living for meetings and have to look my best. Sorry. If you simply fly in to an airport, the bathrooms have outlets for just such and emergency. If you stay at a hotel, I have yet to find one that doesn\'t have outlets in the bathroom.

3. I go camping and don\'t take a generator with me. If you\'re camping in a tent or a cabin Grizzly Adams style then you should play the part. You\'re suppose to be roughing it, either grow a beard or use a straight blade.

4. I often run late for work and I find myself having to shave while driving. If you find yourself having to shave while driving then you should really wake up earlier.

5. If the power goes out I still want to be able to shave. If the power goes out long enough for you to need a shave then you are probably going to be more pissed off about the food spoiling in your refrigerator.

I just can\'t seem to find a practical reason for the cordless electric shaver. It sounds like it might be a good idea, but then again, there are a lot of things that sound like good ideas at the time. OK, I\'m stepping off of my soap box right now. I have more questions during the week.

Gardening with AlienCG

I am gong to post the big update next week. First of all, we have had quite a bit of rain and it\'s tough to move around without getting muddy. I\'m also on vacation next week, so I can make it look all pretty. And on top of all that I have a second post for tonight. So, here\'s a pleasant bit of news from the garden:

The first tomatoes have shown themselves. This makes me happy. I will be back soon, stay close.

Something for Sunday

I did do my Saturday Scavenger Shots yesterday, so I am allowed to post today. The following could be considered a bonus trivia question.

According to the nursery rhyme, what is Humpty Dumpty?

Help! I Need Somebody

This week\'s word was brought to us by Laura B. and the word is HELP. I don\'t have a before picture for the first, but the after looks quite good. I have a weeping cherry tree in my front yard and I really have no idea how to maintain it. Luckily, my neighbor is a landscaper and, for a nominal fee, took care of the uncontrollable branches. Here is the after picture:

Doesn\'t it look pretty now. Of course, that\'s not the only picture I have. This little guy holds my front door open:

I did post him before, but he was on a bookshelf at the time. That\'s what I\'ve got. Have a good weekend.
