The Star of My Own Show

This week's word was chosen by the dorkster known as me, AlienCG. I chose the word STAR thinking that certain events would fall into line and I would be able to represent this word in a big way. Unfortunately, things didn't come together so I am forced into using an older picture.

I went to a star party last Saturday night out in Kirtland, OH and hoped to capture some great pictures of stars. It had been cloudy all day, but by early evening, the clouds started to break and it looked like there would be a definite possibility of clear skies. After I got there and set up, the clouds moved in again and, even worse, it started to rain. So, there would be no pictures for me this night.

Instead, here's a picture of STARS for your enjoyment...

While it's not the brightest star in the universe, the brightest star in this photo is Polaris, the north star. This was a mid-length exposure (about 30 seconds) with the camera stationary. I took this shot last summer in my backyard.

There you go, a story to go with my picture. Tara, you're up, consider yourself tagged.
