Tara, over at Eclectic Spaghetti, chose this week's Saturday Scavenger Shots word, PUZZLED. I was PUZZLED over what I was going to use for a photo for this one. However, this past Wednesday provided me a photo and a story. I went to the Mayhem Festival which included Anthrax, Motorhead, Slayer and Slipknot. My friend that I went with lives in clear view of what is now a cell tower in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. This tower looks more like a smokestack or a concrete pillar (Photo to follow). It was constructed in the 1980's by Rex Humbard Ministries and was supposed to be a rotating restaurant and a radio transmitter for the ministry's local TV station. Due to problems with the SEC and a slight case of bankruptcy, the ministry sold off the tower (known coloquially as Rex's Rod or Rex's Erection) at auction and it is now used as a cell phone tower.
Many people don't really know this story or the history behind the tower and are PUZZLED when they see it.
